Syrians stream from their war-torn country into Iraq's Kurdistan region

The above picture is of Hayan, his wife Abir, and daughters Maria and Masah (just a few weeks old). A sponsorship application for the family is in process. Hayan is the son of a Syrian family in Thorncliff Park who came as refugees almost 2 years ago, having to leave behind their two adult children, Hayan and Fatima. Fatima's family is also awaiting approval of the sponsorship application.
